Okey is played by four people with 106 tiles. After the deal you hold 14 tiles; the starting player plays with 15. A tile is turned face up as the indicator, and the next tile up in the same colour becomes the joker, standing in for any tile you are missing. On your turn you draw one tile — from the pile or from your left-hand neighbour’s discard — and then discard one tile to the player on your right. Your aim is to split all fourteen tiles into runs of consecutive numbers in one colour, or sets of the same number in different colours. When your hand is complete, you discard your last tile and close the round.

At the end of the deal one tile is turned face up: that is the indicator. The tile one number above it in the same colour becomes that round’s joker and can stand in for any tile you are missing. If the indicator is a 13, the joker is the 1 of the same colour. The two false jokers — the tiles printed with the joker’s face — can be used in place of the real joker, but they are not wild themselves.

You do not have to close with runs and sets: if all fourteen of your tiles are pairs, the hand is finished too. A pair means two identical tiles — same number, same colour. Closing on pairs is worth more than an ordinary hand.

Whoever closes the hand wins the stake on the table. Closing by discarding the joker, or on pairs, multiplies what you win. The other players pay the stake agreed when the table was opened.

You can open your own table and let only the players you invite sit down. A private table does not appear in the public table list; only the people you invite and those on your friends list can join.

A flag shows the player’s country. The flag next to your avatar should be the country you live in; if it does not match, you can change it from the Settings menu.

Tap the player’s avatar to mute them or file a report. Reports are reviewed by our team, and accounts that break the rules face in-game penalties.
